New to Southview? We invite you to come as you are and allow us to join you in your journey to better understand who God is and His purpose and plan for your life. There is so much more to life than merely existing day to day to go to work or school, pay bills, and face the struggles and challenges that this world brings. We are invited by God to really LIVE!
Join us as we seek to live life to the fullest by knowing and following Jesus, the only true source of life. We are a church where people can know God personally, grow in knowledge and relationship with God and others, and go into the world to share the love and grace of God. This section will help you find out more about who we are and how God has called our church to pursue Him and declare His truth to the world around us. How should I dress? Come comfortable. Some wear jeans and a t-shirt, others a pair of khakis, some suits, and some business casual; just make sure you come in whatever is most comfortable for you. What about my children? Your children will have a blast in our exciting kids’ programs designed just for them! When you arrive, our welcome team will help guide you to the right area for your child. Or if you prefer, you are welcome to keep your children with you in the main worship service. What about my teenager? Middle and high school students meet in smaller groups on Sunday mornings, called Journey Groups, at 9:30am in the student lounge. Our groups make time for study, prayer, and catching up with each other. At 11:00am, students are encouraged to attend worship. If you wanted to check out an adult Journey Group at 11:00am, your student is more than welcome to sit with a whole group of students that attend worship together. What about Children and Youth activities other than Sunday? Yes! We are actively involved in partnering with you in building and developing the hearts of your young people to stand up and lead the next generation. We offer Wednesday evening activities to connect and build your children and teenagers throughout the year as well as special events throughout the year. We know that finding a place for your child is important; check out our student and children's ministry pages to see more details. Also, feel free to contact our Children's Ministry Director or Student Minister with any questions you may have! KidsView offers TeamKid, Vacation Bible School, Mega Sports Camp, and our annual Fall Splash! Your kids are sure to have a great time and grow in their knowledge of God. The Student Ministry offers two separate programs for high school and middle school students that includes summer camps, the annual Turkey Bowl, winter retreats, bi-monthly special events, discipleship groups, and, most importantly, purposeful, authentic Bible study. Will anyone single me out or embarrass me? No. You won’t be asked to do anything that will make you feel uncomfortable. We’ll greet you warmly and help you find your way around. If you have any questions, a member of our guest services team will be happy to help. We want to keep in touch with you, so a simple guest card is available to give us a record of your visit if you choose. Guests are specifically asked to feel no obligation to give money. What kind of church is Southview? We are a contemporary southern baptist church that values authenticity and community. Our church is a home to all ages and backgrounds. Our worship music includes everything from standard hymns (done in more modern arrangements) to songs currently being played on Christian radio and everything in between. We seek not to be defined by a particular style but rather by the Holy Spirit moving in us and through us. The messages are relevant, timely, and always focused on the truth of God's Word. Pastor Brian strives to faithfully preach from God's Word while helping us understand how to apply God's truth to our daily lives. Our children, student, and adult ministries are focused on discipleship and building healthy relationships among families and community. Where are we located? We are conveniently located at 4089 Elk Rd. in Hope Mills across from South View High and Middle Schools. What are the Service times? Sunday worship service/Journey Groups are offered twice at 9:30am and 11:00am. For some special dates, we might hold one worship service, please see the calendar! Wednesday evening children, teen, and adult programs begin at 6:30pm. What does a Southview Worship service look like? Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sundays, with a time of worship led by our awesome Praise Team! You are invited to participate as you feel comfortable. Some people sing and clap along; others might lift their hands humbly in worship; some might simply listen and reflect quietly. We invite you to be who you are and to seek God without any fear of hype or manipulation. After a brief time of greeting, you’ll experience engaging teaching from the Bible by Pastor Brian. You’ll find him to be relevant, authentic, and passionate about helping you to understand how the Bible applies to your daily life. We don’t water down Scripture, we humbly teach it with conviction and straightforward simplicity. So whether you’re just tearing the plastic wrap off your first Bible, or whether you’ve read it cover to cover, you can grow and be challenged in your walk with God. Click here to listen to one of our Sunday morning messages. The teaching often features inspirational and engaging videos that make the service even more memorable and impacting. You’ll always get something on Sunday you can use on throughout the week and you’ll leave uplifted, challenged, and ready to experience the life God offers you through Jesus Christ. | First Time?
